You need to use geometric perspective to accurately render cylindrical objects, such as vases or mugs. In this project, I show you how to use 2?point perspective to draw a cylinder. You need your sketchbook, a pencil, and a ruler.

I am Chris Jiang from China. the first of all, I want to say that thanks for drawspace website. I have a feeling after read this selection. that is here a big different culture and different skill, but the all thing based on basic principium.
this selection give me detail information and how to draw a cylinder. maybe some one say that it is easy to draw a cylinder. But I think this selection will let us know the detail process and understand why and how to use two piont, and what is two piont.
it is very help us to analyse, and understand that. thanks!

i didnt use a ruler so my drawing is kinda in a mess but, i think it's still good enough. well, architecture student in first semester was trained not to use ruler to draw so someday if there's no ruler to be used they still can draw a straight line. this lesson is easy to understand thank you so much for the lesson

This is an overly complicated way of drawing a simple cylinder.

I enjoy these perspective exercises and I do it quite well. Nevertheless this cylinder it was good only at the third try because the top was smalleer than the bottom at first. Than I figured it out!

Great lesson. Cylinders and ellipses are always difficult, this really helped!
