Hello....
Well.....I'm thrilled to have found this website.....looks like a place of great resource for drawing. I have been drawing for many years now.....but need to get back to the basics I'm afraid. My daughter gave me one of those wooden figurines to use, and so I guess I'm seeking help in how to use it. Any thoughts or is there a particular lesson in here I might use to get started?

Look forward to getting to know some people in here......

First I have to say is welcome to draw space. Drawspace is a great art community. The people here are very friendly and are very talented. The range of expertise is from the very educated to novice. Everyone has their little tricks that they have picked up along the way and in most cases are willing to share. They will help you achieve your goals in drawing better. I know, they have helped me.

The idea behind the wooden figurine is to help with proportion of the human shape and the position with the limbs. It's a reference point. Once you draw the proportions then, you can put in the characteristics of the features that you choose. i.e. face, ears, hair and clothes or even nude.

I hope this helps.

I look forward to seeing your drawings.

Regards,
Gilbert
