This project guides you through the process of setting up proportional guidelines, and using symmetry to draw the facial features and hair of a male anime character named Kobrah. Super simple hatching lines are then added to the face to create the illusion of three-dimensional reality.

I did this tutorial mostly with a 3B pencil. The hair is a bit of a mess, I need to work more on my rendering.

Really Good guide, But since i have only a mech. Pencil, it's kindof hard to do some of the more detailed parts.

I did alright considering I didn't follow all of the outlining step. That was just too much. So I just started it in pencil. Then drew it in pin. I changed some things though.

This was so much fun! I was wondering how to do male faces but now I understand that you make the chin more square-ish. I was also checking cartoons yesterday to see how male faces differ from females and I saw the same thing! Here is Kobrah.

Oh yea, I used a 0.8 Artline pen for the outlines and a marker to shade the hair and eyebrows.

I really enjoyed this lesson...am always surprised at by following the steps how it somehow turns out ok (sometimes even really great) at the end..thanks!!

A tough challenge with all the small lines, but i really enjoyed it.
