I would love to be in on this one but my work schedule for the next few weeks looks
so hectic that I'm afraid I just couldn't do it justice. Therefore I must pass on this one but
will be watching everyone's beautiful work and hopefully I can get on the next trade.

It is sooo nice to have you back, dear Kay !! I smile.gif
oliverandjazz
Thank you so much Tommy, Jeane had told me you would probably be busy for this trade..We will miss you and hope to see you in the next and it is good to see you too.. wink.gif

I was wondering if it would be ok to try and do miniatures of Brenda's lessons for these trades? I'd like to try a miniature "Bill the Cat" and the "Kitty" one. I've wondered about that in past trades too, like doing the "Tulip" or "Study of a Flower" for the flowers trade, but wasn't sure it would be appropriate...

terrible story

HEALESVILLE, Australia – Towering flames razed entire towns in southeastern Australia and burned fleeing residents in their cars as the death toll rose to 84 on Sunday, making it the country's deadliest fire disaster.

At least 700 homes were destroyed in Saturday's inferno when searing temperatures and wind blasts produced a firestorm that swept across a swath of the country's Victoria state, where all the deaths occurred.

"**** in all its fury has visited the good people of Victoria," Prime Minister Kevin Rudd told reporters as he toured the fire zone on Sunday. "It's an appalling tragedy for the nation."
bigs
Kay its 2,000 kilometres away from me but there are 2 families that we are aquainted with who no one has heard from...........we are hoping against hope...........

The death toll is now 108 and rising. The flames were about 10 storeys high and travelling at about 100meters a minute or faster - there were people who thought they had time to get out and by the time they started the car the fire was there. So scary.

There has been 820,000 acres burnt at the moment and fires are still out of control in some areas. My heart was melted by a woman who showed her dog's kennel run on her property and she said it was covered with vines and was always the coolest place and she couldn't get out of the house to let him out - the fire was that quick........but the worse thing is that one was arson - her house, cars, dog, dairy, and all fencing on the property are gone and she has only about half of her Fresian cattle left on her dairy.

Have just heard that a fire front has jumped a river that was supposed to be a natural fire break.........another town is in the path of that fire.........please pray for Victoria.

I know this is quite off topic, and sorry for that, but this has been listed today as the greatest natural disaster in AUstralia's history. And the tragedy is that while fire is called natural half of the fires were arson. Our Prime Minister has called it mass murder.

The irony is that while Victoria burns after the worst drought in our history, Far north Queensland has towns that have been under metres of water from flooding rains and cyclones, they are expecting King Tides this week and there is talk of two tropical depressions out to sea that can become cyclones - a 5 year old boy who was on the edge of the flood water with his dog has been taken by a crocodile..............................it is so very tragic over here at present. All your thoughts for those suffering can only help.

Sorry to have nothing much but bad news at present.

Does anyone in this group own a Doberman Pinscher?
bigs
Kay I got Donna & Les.....I make it 17 cards that I need to do ....is that right?

I don't own a doberman, but if you want pictures I might be able to help - the only thing is we don't crop ears over here and of late tail docking has stopped too so we now have long tailed dobermans, and boxers and everything else!
They look like cross breeds when you see them for the first time! lol!

oliverandjazz
thats it hon..those are the final ..I cant wait to see what you have produced..your cards are always a treat..

well..i suppose the cropping and cutting of tails and ears is a problem for PETA..i dont mind the cropping and cutting when done by a pro..but there was probably a bunch of dummies running round thinking they could do it themselves and of course screwing it up..so someone had to step in..i am sure that does produce some strange looking pure breds though.. biggrin.gif

no..i dont need any pics..i was just wondering if anyone owned one..i'm nosy that way tongue.gif
bigs
Never stop being nosy Kay.............it would never be the same without your sparkling personality!

as you guys know we have been bumbling ideas in the forum for future trades..how does everyone feel about birds next month..or music/instruments

lets kinda vote between the two..i think i really like the music /music instruments idea . how bout you guys?
Mindy__
Unfortunately I won't be able to join the next trade because I'll be taking college classes full-time, as opposed to only half-time at the moment. So whatever you guys settle on, hope you have fun and I'll be watching wistfully from the sidelines. wink.gif

I'm having so much fun with my cats... just tried a miniature of the lesson "Bill the Cat" and it looks better than the big one I did! I'll cry giving it away, but at least someone else can enjoy it... sad_an.gif happy.gif

These are my favorites! Either one would be lovely. Let's do one and then the other.

Marilyn

I vote for music & musical instruments - give the living creatures a break fo r those who don't normally draw them. Great range of instruments out there!

Kay, with that query by Sveta...........we still have 17 cards to do?? Or have we gotten an extra that I haven't got an address for?? Just don't want to miss anyone.
foutfolk
How is everyone doing with the cat drawings? I am finding that since this (these) is the first time I have really taken the time to draw cats, that I am enjoying studying the different types of cats, and the different structures of the faces of cats. After this, i should be able to draw cats from my head!
katdyd
blink.gif im finding cats a challenge..yet its fun to work outside my comfort zone..four done..one in process..
Mindy__
I've got 9 finished. I'm also feeling like I should be able to draw cats from memory after this trade... Hope everyone likes Garfield, because I might throw him in there for a few if time runs short. (sorry for the spoiler) wink.gif

I have started last week, and have five done. This week was somewhat complicated, so I hope I'll catch up the week end.
Mindy, don't worry about Garfield. I have amused to find a lot of old feline fellows from my childhood, probably Garfield's ancestors. So I will stick to the "crazy cats" current on this trade and have fun drawing these old "masters".
