At the current time the only way one can search the Gallery is through the captions - i.e. the title that the poster chooses to give to the piece they display. The description one adds to the picture is not included in the search.

I wonder if it is possible to add another field or set of fields when one posts an art work or reference picture indicating keywords under which the item may be searched. This would be in addition to the caption and description.

For instance: let's take this picture I uploaded recently. I titled the photo Sunrise over calm waters. If I could insert keywords I might have chosen something like: Landscape; sea; clouds etc. This might be useful for anyone searching for references, perhaps even more than the caption itself which sometimes is not very helpful.

Yes I agree that the Gallery needs to be refined more to have categories. I believe I did mention this in a suggestion a few months back, but it may have been too small a selection at that point to consider doing it.

Now the gallery is growing rapidly and we need some structure to it so people can find resources more easily.

Admin? Can we do something like this?

Good Idea - I second the motion. It definitely needs some type of categorization.

Good idea.

Keywords would be good, but it would be great if we could tell someone about the website and tell them to search for our user name or the name that is with our posts.

It's a good idea!!
There are too many pictures and it is imposible to browse them or find something you are looking for.
I suggest to group them by rating, object drawed, etc and to make a way to can vote every picture without writing a comment.

I think that such categorization would be nice and also the idea of voting sounds good..Maybe when you refresh the site to get 5 random pictures to have the option of rating it..
