This is my in-progress drawing - it's freehand and composed it with no refs - therefore this girl is fictional. I wanted to convey the most beautiful girl in the world therefore she is multi-racial; the theme of this drawing is she is getting a flower under a tree from a guy but there are many things happening between this xchange (up to the audience's interpretation).

It's execution - I wanted it to be a lil Renaissance type - mixed with modern + full blast of energy (my touch). wink.gif

Any thoughts, comments? (Just wanted to share.)

-Thanks. wub.gif

I saw this on your web site .. most interesting . I love the idea you have behind the drawing .. what makes up the most beautiful women for you and the idea of giving her a wide range of looks . is the drawing done ? I think it would look wonderful by adding your tree reaching out around her for the background ..like a embrace . nicely done Rick and thank you for posting it .. I hope others will share their thoughts .

Very interesting to see a work in progress and also get a glimpse into the mind of the artist - it puts the work into perspective.

Comments:

Nice use of color and blending. I like the choice of color for her eyes, the green complements the reddish tone of the rest of the drawing and makes the eyes stand out.

Good "C" shape composition too - keeps the viewer's eye in the picture.

Is this done in colored pencil?

She looks so alive and bright, and it has a dreamy, ethereal quality to it. You must dream in technicolor and have a great imagination! Can't wait to see the finished work. I am always inspired by what others are doing.
Must go and sharpen those colored pencils! arts.gif

Wow - I'm taken aback by all these great replies. biggrin.gif

No - I don't think too much when I draw - things come out like in a dream, they flow straight to paper.

The complements you guys talked about I must've hit them in an unconscious manner - I just do what feels right to me - I wanted to give this chick green eyes because they're so rare!! (Hence rare beauty.)

Further more - it's a fantasy - so what are the odds of the most beautiful chick on earth to have all these qualities?? (Slim to none - nothing is perfect in nature - something is always missing which is complemented by an exteriour source - hence forming a whole.) So it's not real - but for the sake of this drawing - it is!! Just a temporary sweet ethereal dream - like it was said.. (just a dream..) smile.gif

Ms. Kim hit it on the nail's-head because that's xactly what I intended to do (the tree stuff coming out n connecting) only that I also want an xchange happening btwn the rose being given and the one she is dropping due to suprize - because guess what? It's enegerized by his love and she drops it in suprize!!

Ahh.. I just gave it away .. but there could be so many other intepretations, so no loss. wacko.gif

Furthermore, the border of the scene of the tree pops in from another time & dimension of passion and space - hence there will be some faint pulsating energy powering up the mirage.

Well whatever.. no it's only 1/2 done, I been at this thing for longest (2months+), I'm going to do something simpler next and then push the complexities higher up when I'm more rested with more works later.

I get more ideas faster than I can put them down on paper (so I take notes) and when I get the time, I oftentimes combine compatible 1s. Phew!

Thanks for viewing. wub.gif

Be back later with a newer build.

I don't know how I dream.. but reality is boring and I make it xciting on paper and it brings just a moment of euphoria to those that view it (that's my aim.)

I'll be back. lol

I forgot to say that my name's actually Val - not Rick - Rick was the other dude from that other thread.

Also feel free to throw at me any ideas you have part of the processes - I always take them into consideration. Even some non-art people gave me some very good ideas. biggrin.gif

-Thanks again!!

More progress on the aforementioned piece - the whole thing changed, so the title changed too.

Yes the guy actually became an elf - hence a good plausible explanation for all the magicks happening in this drawing lol.
