Hi Everybody,
I thought it might be interesting to see if anyone got art supplies for Christmas or maybe some other favorite thing you'd like to share. I know everyone got something, cause we were all on the "good list" right?
I'll start with saying, I got a wooden figure to help with drawing the human shape, plus erasers (which I use a lot of), hahaha. I also got a new muzzleloading rifle, which I hope to draw in the future.
I guess though, my favorite gift was my son's smile! I missed a Christmas with him in 2003, because he was in Iraq for a year, serving his country in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He came back safe, and now, each Christmas I get to spend with him, is much more special. I hope each of you had a special Christmas as well.

Its too early for me to know what I have yet. Well 7:30am but I'm up by myself. The older you get, the lest frantic the rush is on Christmas morning! lol But I'll be back later to tell all...
Jonsie, I'm glad you get to spend Christmas with your son. That is indeed special. I will have a two way webcam visit with both my girls later today, that's as close as I get this year.

I really didn't get much special this year but I did get a Moleskine Journal Book - Just like Jeanette is always talking about sketching in. LOL I can't wait to use it.
I also got to see all my children and grandchildren at one time at one place and the little ones didn't get into a fight. We actually spent the whole day and there were no tears. lol

I'm wallowing in art stash! I got a new Italian easel, complete with paints, canvases, paper, palette, etc., as well as a wooden box full of paints and pencils, paper, table easel, etc.
Two kits, one for sketching , one for watercolour and a subscription to Ann Kullberg's online monthly newsletter. I'm spoiled for choice.
That and I got to talk to both my girls and see them on webcam. Life is good.

It has been a hectic Christmas here. I couldn't believe it, but my girls actually let us sleep until 8:30am on Christmas Morning!!! That was a gift in and of itself!!!! After that it has been non-stop!!! My daughter, Rachelle, gave me a lovely snowman figurine that she had handpainted in art class...she did such a good job I thought she had bought it!!! My youngest two gave us two lovely handdrawn pictures in addition to the store bought items. No new supplies, but I'm not running low on anything right now. My hubby bought me a new scanner/printer combo...and since I use both in my art work I guess we could consider that art supply related!!! He's going to upgrade my hard drive in the next 2 weeks so I may not be around while we work the bugs out. I'll keep you updated when that happens.
Then my girls and I went to spend a bit of time with my 80 years young grandmother!!! What an amazing woman...I get tired watching her. She never sits down!!! She still makes the best bannana nut bread in the world!!!
After we got home we had our Christmas Dinner and then I had to bake Danielle's birthday cake....today is her 11th birthday!!! A very busy, but enjoyable day!!!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

I got a package of six derwent drawing pencils with 4 shades of brown, ivory black and chinese white. My husband who took art in school and did very well at it, insists I have to try out some different mediums. He probably would have bought more, but I told him I wanted to get a handle on my drawing with pencils, and I gave him a spending limit! I love Christmas because I get to see all my family. It gets crazy, we have stuff going on all week, but I get to see everyone. I think that is my best gift....family.
Merry Christmas

Geez guys you'd think, that being with family and seeing the children's faces all covered with smiles are such a gift!! Just kidding.....I know for me, that my child, and my grandsons laughing and their happy faces, are a gift that is better than gold. I'm so glad you all enjoy the real gifts. I'm also awed by how people with step families do so much to get along, kudos to you!!
The gift of giving is so precious, especially when it comes with that " Look Mom/Dad, what I got you!!", look. I'm just glad you all let me be a part of the seasons blessings. This place is so much more than drawing it seems.....
Happy Holidays to all...

I'd hoped for more art supplies, but i definately can't complain

I didn't get to see much of my family this year - it was just me, mum and dad, which was strange

I got an Ott Light. One of those true light lamps for art. It sure looks better than a regular light. And I got a multi pack of tortillions, a 100 count box of felt water color pens and some much needed kneaded erasers.

I wanted prisma pencils, but I am grateful for all that I got. Now I will just beg for the Prismas. After all there is still Valentines Day in February.. and my birthday.. and there's always "If You Want Me to Quit Begging Then Get Me Prisma Pencils Day"..

I am so blessed. Santa brought me 2 Ott lights, a desk version and a floor lamp. And to top it off, he added the magnifier which attaches to the floor lamp. But my favourite gift was hand made by my 12-yr-old granddaughter - a ceramic box with dozens of paper hugs and kisses all cut into hearts (her dry sense of humour cuz kisses and hugs were the last items on my Christmas list

).
Cheers.....Maire

Well lets see..since I am soo spoiled I got my new digital camera (the day after thanksgiving), I got my 120 set of Prismacolor pencils (2 weeks before Christmas), I got my derwent 72 set of water colour pencils (which I am still waiting for them to arrive) and I also got 3 new sketch pads of plain white paper. my biggest Christmas present was when the oldest two girls opened their art supplies andd got all happy giddy over the drawing books from Border books that I got them. They see that I have tons of learning drawing reference books and asked Santa for their own. So maybe I will just have a house full of artist one day.
Unfortunately though, my house was also stricken with the nasty flu bug this year...so it seems one after another is getting sick. (Knocking on Wood) so that it skips me!!!

Hope Everyone elses homes stay healthy!!!

We haven't really had Christmas with the family yet & my husband & I usually don't exchange gifts but buy what we want when we want it. However, my Inktense pencils arrived right before Christmas & I was thrilled! I've done a little playing with them but have had very little uninterrupted time to really do anything to learn them.
But, I know the best present will be when my oldest granddaughter arrives to spend the week after New Years here! She's in college in Maine and visits have been few & far between!

Hey gift getters!!
What's with all this excitement over the Prismacolor pencils? Are they like the diamonds of the pencil world? I've seen a lot of colored work on here, and have always wondered how it would be to do that.
I asked for drawing talent, but Santa said, " I've given it all out already."
I'm glad you all are enjoying the gifts, and all that comes with it. Remember to share your colors,or the Grinch will come!!
I'm looking forward to seeing more colors in action. I need some inspiration. Happy holidays to you all !!
