Brian David Dekter

Seasons greetings all, and welcome to Snoopy 101 Pooh Challenge , my name is Brian your host and curator of Snoopy 101. Although I am no expert on this.....

Winnie the Pooh, a fictional bear created by A. A. Milne, named by his son after a bear he often visited at the London Zoo. During the first world war troops from Winnipeg Manitoba were being transported to eastern Canada, when the train stopped at White River Ontario a lieutenant named Harry Colbourn bought a small female black bear cub for 20 dollars from a hunter who had killed it's mother. He named her after his home town Winnipeg or Winnie for short.

The first collection of the stories came out in book in 1926, later the Walt Disney company adapted the Pooh stories into a series of featurettes that became one of Disney's most successful franchises across the globe.

My Challenge, I encourage all levels of skill to participate. Simply draw one of the references below by the original illustrators I have provided or use any reference you like. Please no computer graphics all drawings must be hand drawn. You may use your computer for text or coloring but please post your original drawing first.

At this time I would like to thank all the past hosts and members who have participated in Snoopy 101 this year, you have all helped keep our community together. Best wishes all in the new year ahead,

I hope you all enjoy this challenge,

Happy drawings,

Brian

laugh.gif Did Pooh eat too much honey again?! Nice job Jacqui, they're all so cute.
Brian David Dekter
Glad you are enjoying the challenge Jacqui, I agree with Mindy, very cute! I like the color too, what did you use? is it water color. Pooh sure loves his honey, he looks happy. smile.gif
JacquiP
Thanks Mindy and Brian. Yes I used watercolour pencil. Took a few liberties with the colours but think they turned out okay.

Is it to late to do this challenge?
*Roxy*
I don't think it's ever too late to do a challenge.
Brian David Dekter
Hi Milkquasy, Roxy is correct, the challenges never really expire, so you can always participate even if they have a cut off date, I usually try to post a new Cartoon challenge every few weeks, and any one is welcome to post their drawings long after,

best regards,

Brian

I am so sorry that this is so dark. My printer passed away, we are thankful it is no longer in pain. I am sure I am posting this wrong, but I couldn't find anything showing how to do it differently. His hand is missing, I ran out of room, so much for making sure I was centered. This is the first thing I have drawn in years and I'm rather pleased. Feel free to critique.

Hi Milkquasy, I am glad you decided to pick up your pencils again and joined in, this is a very sweet and happy drawing, sorry to hear about your printer/scanner. I may be able to brighten this for you later with photo-shop, as I am not on my home computer at the moment. Thanks for your participation,

Brian
Milkquasy
Oh thank all of you for the kind words. I did get another scanner yesterday, however this drawing is much to large for it, heh. I was going to do a photoshop thing on it, but I have seen so much 'no digital drawing' stuff, that I wasn't sure if it was okay or not. I will soon post a picture of the painting, I hope to work on it a bit this weekend.
Brian David Dekter
Hi Milkquasy, I have been allowing photo shop for color or text in the cartoon challenges, as long as all drawings are hand drawn and not digitally drawn, all types of media are also welcome, I only ask that original drawings are posted prior to being colored or painted in photo shop, hope I helped,

I look forward to your painting,

Brian.

post now edited......

I am on my home computer now and have enhanced your Tigger drawing , here they are side by side your original and same enhanced with photo shop elements 5.

best regards,
