I wanted so much to participate and draw the URN, but my health is not very good right now... I got sick during Paul´s challenge, but still did make it and contribute with a drawing, but now I got worse...
But I´m checking your work and loving all of them!!

Hi everyone, good stuff here.

Sorry for the late entries, I had a busy week.

These two pieces of that picture caught my eye....the little boy, and
the older lady in the background. I failed to capture his inquisitive look.
Oh well....

Best

ElenaM
Hi, Hunter Green.Very interesting approach of the picture. The grandmother looks older in your drawing, but the boy is quite well rendered. Glad you post these original sketches.
Thanks for joining.
HunterGreen
Thanks Elena...and thank you for hosting this challenge.

The lady did come out a little older looking. I'll have to
confer with my pencil to see what it was thinking.

Drawspace is a good place.

Hi Elena! Thanks for hosting! This is my fourth try on my useless home computer to upload, hope it's successful! This is unfinished, I'll post the finished work on the gallery soon!Click to view attachment

Wow, Sandra. This onion is awesome! I can't wait to see the whole thing. I am glad that you found inspiration in my challenge and broke the spell of your dry spell rolleyes.gif
I guess the reason for having uploading problems is not the computer but the size of the file. You forgot to resize it to let's say 640x480 pixels.
Anyway, it's great to see you here.

You're right, it is a bit large unsure.gif I've tried to resize before and then it was really small. I'll be the first to admit, I'm not good at working with photos, scans, etc., I've learned mostly by trial and error. I'll attempt re-sizing again, it's frustrating to try uploading time and time again. Thanks for the advice and compliments - I'll work more on the beans tomorrow. Now it's time for Nyquil, orange juice and a good night's sleep (still battling the cold or flu, not sure which one). sad.gif

I am still waiting for Sandra's still life and we can close this challenge.
It's always my pleasure to host and provide pictures for your art, my freinds. Till next time, thank you all.

I've learned, also by trial and error, that several things can make resizing easier. First, go into the "properties" of the pictures and make sure the resolution is set to 72 pixels/inch. This reduces the size of the file without making the picture look smaller. If it needs cropping, I find the Paint program to be a quick & easy way to crop it. Just open your picture with Paint, and "drag" the lower right corner up to crop it the way you want. Then rotate 180 degrees and do the same. Rotate it back again, save it. If the file is still too big, I go to Microsoft Photo Editor and "resize" until it's small enough to upload into the forum. Between these things I've never had a problem resizing and still have a decent sized picture. Hope this helps someone. wink.gif
