QUOTE (Jangra @ Jan 6 2010, 10:46 PM)

I sign mine on the front. Some people put a certificate of authenticity on the back and sign that. I used to do that but figure you can tell pretty much that my work is original when you get it.
Here is the boxer so you can see the signature. It is on the left edge of the card next to the muzzle.
Thank you Jangra. Beautiful drawing btw.. I love it

I usually sign my name on the front and then on the back I write what the picture is then I write which Atc it is and then what month and year and then I write my name in the back too and i write thanks for the trade
Jangra
Jan 7 2010, 01:55 AM
Thanks Roxy. I should have said that too. I put the subject or a name if I have named the piece. Then I sign it again and beside that put my screen name in case someone in here doesn't know them both. Then the date and the medium I used. At the bottom I usually write the trade name Like "Dogs trade".

Roxy how did you change your screen name?
*Roxy*
Jan 7 2010, 03:21 AM
I'm trying to look back at how I did it but I can't find it lol it's maybe because i'm not allowed to re-change it for at least 30 days I think. I know I went to my profile and maybe it was in option because it was showing my name change history.

If you go browsing around on the web I am sure you can find examples of what people put on the back of their cards. This is what I used to copy off and stick to the back of mine:
Original ATC
Title: Date:

email:
Anyway, I have done some 3 more cards, so here they are:

Thanks for the info. Good to know.
Love the ink work in your images. I was just wondering if it was usual to post your work as you complete them. I guess yes. I made a start of 5 today, doing a bit here and there on each as they are in watercolour. Hope that medium is okay. The size is actually really nice to work with.

Roxy how did you change your screen name?
At the top click "My controls", then on the left list under Personal Profile you should see the option "change display name".
Jangra
Jan 7 2010, 04:01 PM
Thanks Roxy. I tried that and the name "jangra" isn't the one showing. Funny huh?
Jacqui some people show their cards ahead of time, some give a peak of a couple, some post on their blog (where others can take a look if they want), and some keep them a secret till received. It's up to you how you do it.
In the other forum, I don't show them ahead of receipt and those go out one at a time over 6 months. In this one, I tend to show at least some of them as they all go out in the same month and at the same time. And no one knows which they will get so it's still a surprise.

Today is the last day for signing up. I will be pming the list tomorrow. I have all the addresses and thank you for being so prompt providing them.

Jacqui,
Jeanne hit the nail on the head!
Here on Drawspace it has eveolved that the pics get posted before they are sent because we move on after a month. Sometimes pics don't get posted otherwise, and after all the recipients don't know which one will arrive in their letterbox.
On other sites where a swap can last for 6 months or more we only post the pic in the swap gallery after the card has been acknowledged as received.
It has grown organically here to accommodate the quick turnaround.

Signups for this trade are officially closed.
I have pm'd the mailing list to all the participants. Please check your address and make sure it is ok. If not, please let me know right away.
There are 11 signed up so each person will mail 10 cards. We have till the end of the month to finish. Please make sure they are original artwork and not copies. Please let people know in this thread when cards have arrived. Please share your cards if you want. And most of all have lots of fun.

Very nice!! These are in watercolour right? That's got to be hard on such a small format.

Some really cute ideas there. Looking forward to having some nice doggies come here to live. Since we had to put down our Friday on New Year's Eve, we only have two left so have plenty of room for some new ones.

Jacqui,
great first effort with an unfamiliar subject in a tiny format! I like your basset & beagle, but it's the fluffy that looka a bit like a Griffon that is really cute!
If you will allow me to be picky, I'd like to help you improve - you have the shape of the dogs down really well, and the layering and glazing of the watercolour to get the coat just the way you want will come in time wwith practice.......its coming along quite nicely now. The thing that lets them down a bit is the eyes. If you have a look at even the darkest dog's eye you can still see several shades in there. I would suggest that you start with some light washes, leave your highlight or use some frisket to keep it, and build up the layers of colour - leave a little whit or light at the lower edge and the inner canthus (the inside corner) and you will get more life in your creatures and more people going "Awwwwww!!" when they see them. Another trick that I use is that I usually make the eye/s a teeny bit larger than they are supposed to be - it makes them cuter.
Hope you don't mind these suggestions, but I think that you have the makings of someone who can do wonderful animals.
Carol, as always I love your pics and there is so much personality in the poses you've chosen, just don't ask me to take that slobbery shoe off the bulldog!

Here are the last ones. I actually did 2 more than I needed to as there was room on the piece of paper, so I'll pick the better ones to send out. I'm not too sure about the one that looks like a wookie

I'll get stamps tomorrow when I go to the shops. This is exciting. I hope you all like what you receive.

Norma,
its funny that I was only saying the other day that its odd that even when we mix up the cards before we pop them in the envelopes it seems that the ones that people admire most or that mean something to them always seems to arrive at the right place! I'll let you know if the poodle lands here.

And Jacqui in your address is there really a "/" between numbers? Thanks.

Ya it's just because I want to leave from there. I had alot of issues with the people I live with. They would eat my food, make alot of noise and are just really messy when I try to keep everything clean. I also do not like smoke and I smell the smoke all the way in my room and not just cigarettes if you know what I mean and i'm just tired of living like this. The place I'll be living was really nice, and clean and she doesn't smoke and i'd have my own living room so I wouldn't be stuck in a room and I would also have my own bathroom which is great
