Greetings all. I am DeeDee. I'm new to the forum although I've been dabbling with drawing for several years. I'm ready to make a serious attempt at improvement.

Right now I'm having trouble with cross hatching. It still looks like likes and not shading. Can anyone offer some hints on what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks!

DD

Welcome to Drawspace! A good place to start improving your crosshatching is with section L in the drawing lessons. Also, many of the intermediate lessons use crosshatching as the preferred method of shading. Hope that helps. wink.gif Drawing lessons for crosshatching

Hi, I'm new here too smile.gif

What is it you're trying to achieve with your shading? I assume you don't want the cross hatching look? Are you looking to adopt a realism type of shading instead of the cross hatching?
A helpful critique will be much easier if you were to post a drawing you've done.

You'd be surprised the help they can give you if you post a drawing
