O my goodness where do I start .. I think first and foremost Thank the good lord that Ava is doing okay now.. My oldest Granddaughter had a problem with Asthma when she was young .. had to have breathing treatments and medicines in the treatment made her so Hyper !! .. Glad to say she finally grew out of it.. she has some sleep apnea problems now but that is being looked in to.. I don't know if it had anything to do with the Asthma or not .. but my way of thinking ? maybe..
Second thank you all for my Birthday wishes .. I adore you all.. such wonderful friends .. I wish we all lived close enough to one another that we could meet as group .. I think we would have a grand time together.. My Birthday today is complete with all my friends here .. I love you all..CAKE for everyone !!!
Thirdly ..
Chris Darlin.. I know the frustration you had to be going thru with Sams Hair.. If you knew her ,you captured that tossled mess of her perfectly.. She is such a little Tomboy ,, her hair never has been perfect.. Curly and tossled most all her life.. I absolutely love your portraiture.. You must really continue .. I feel like it is something you will go far with.. You have great insight on personality.. that makes for a wonderful drawing. I love it ..
Garyfallia you and Raidor have such an eye for detail.. I am so jealous for the patience you have .. I was thinking that their were those among this Drawspace that had that talent.. I am so glad I posted that Pocket Watch..Thank you for sharing this with us.. an inspiration for me to give it a try..
Raidor.. I swear you have me in Awe with your Versatility.. You have the Feathers and acorn ready for a frame !!! I know how difficult it was to get those feathers to look real.. the fine plumes at the end look so soft you can almost touch them.. and can see them blowing in the breeze..
sergiomig.. There you are to show us that you don't have to have the perfect paper , the perfect pencils .. you just have to have the Perfect Desire.. You have taken what you were inspired by and grabbed that paper and pencil and poured it out .. I thank you .. your English is fine and we love having you here .. please continue to do these challenges .. I feel like you will have many days of inspirational photo's..

I am so glad you had fun with old Ma and Pa.. Excellent !! Is it done in watercolor ? Looks almost like Inktense.. I can almost imagine an old corncob pipe hangin' out of the side of Pa's mouth .. Heck I can almost imagine one in old Ma's mouth too.. You know those mountain women were pretty tough !! Ha !

Horse whisperer.. now that would suit Kaitlyn to a tee.. she has never feared any animal and they respond to her as tho they had a great connection.. She wants to be an animal doctor when she grows up.. It will be so interesting to to see how this happens.. I don't doubt it at all. Raidor .. You have amazed me from the get go.. I will reflect back on this week and smile.. Everyone has gone to great lengths to challenge themselves and with much success.. I hope that we can all learn from one another and keep having a fun time doing so.. Even tho Chris Hates Hair and I hate flowers .. ha !!!

This is the last day and we will move on with Bobby's Challenge Week .. I am anxious to see what Tennessee has in store for us. Perhaps we will see Jody the cat..
Just know I am thrilled I had such a turn out and everyone has had a good time .. and for those who aren't aware .. remember that you can re visit any of these challenges anytime and post what you are doing anytime.. we would love to see them and hear your story of what you did..
Thanks again ya'll .. I will post all of the paintings and drawings in a group tomorrow..

Wow, you really did a fantastic job on this. I have never tried to draw an animal( probably because they are usually all hairy and we all know how I feel about hair, lol)

I took the drawing lesson on the hair and it still did not help me out. I think the problem that I am having is drawing the lines, I don't know if my hand is too heavy or I rush with the lines. Any suggestions anyone?????

many thanks , vielen Dank smile.gif

Cris, I think you go (as I initially) far too cramped to the drawing hair (= I hated it too)

Today I'm in front of each drawing starting a few relaxation exercises with the hands = not to hold the pen too hard / stiff

now I no longer even need to look at the paper, but mainly to see the object to be drawn - only when the finishing touches, I focus on drawing

Love the colored paper Norma.. It really does make the drawing balance out.. I keep saying I am going to do this technique and I get that sleepy brain and forget.. Next time I am where I can buy the color paper I will put this on my list..Rainy days are my favorite days to draw..

Chris ,,Raidor is so right .. for practice purposes and until you can put more in to Hair as far as detail .. you have to practice the light touch .. Hair is really just an illusion .. not necessary to draw every individual strand.. Light highlights .. less pressure.. erasers are good to get the effect of individual strands here and there,, Also on indenting with an empty ballpoint pen or a dull needle and then shading over that indention with a soft dark graphite you will be amazed as the hair that pops out .. wherever there is an indention that part stays white.. just try it on a clean sheet of paper.. you will love the effect..
Let me know how that works for you..

She is still very young ,, but sometimes it only takes an experience she enjoys the most ,,love of animals to keep that fire in her to succeed in her mission.. I know her family will certainly encourage her..
