Holy cow ...I mean Bull... Very nice drawing /sketch Jacqui... I think maybe now you can add animals to your list of what you can do.. The likeness is near perfect.. adding paint to the mix will be fun.. Yes you made me smile..

Raidor .. That ole' Bull looks great in pastel .I bet it felt good to do something a little less detailed ..(grin) .. the folds in his skin is a wonderful challenge in itself..

OMG Norma .. I love Samantha !! The Derwents are great to use .. I also have the tints and also the water solubles.. in the INTENSE... I love them to.. and the water solubles blend really well...the colors are so vibrant when the water touches them.

I also did the Brahman Bull... Liquid Graphite..

Great job Texaslady. I love the shading and effects you got with the graphite. DId you apply it with a brush? I've seen it in the art shop but never tried it.

yes .. just like with watercolor.. I use the rewettable kind .. not the permanent.. you can rewet and lift to get those extra shades and values .. also the boo boo's.. Ya gotta try it !!!!

Here is my contribution to this week's challenge: Samantha in pencil. Couldn't really see her hair against the dark background so I improvised a little.

Raidor.. Ma and Pa look good in pencil !!! I love Ma's mouth .. you got that perfect..poor thing doesn't have a tooth in her head and Pa has more teeth than he needs, Ha .. I somehow always visualized these as icons for when I grow old .. ha !! Gonna have to find me a Pa tho..

Another beautiful Samantha !! Monikam.. Her hair looks good to me .. She has sort of brownish hair but when ever she had her pictures made,, the light from either the camera or the natural light shining on it .. it always looked Auburn... True this is a dark photo of her and the background sort of blends in to the hair.. I thought about lightening the photo a bit but then the challenge would be something else.. so those darks against darks would have been a good deal.. I had thought about going back and painting in a dark background on mine .. and may still do that to see what a difference it would make..

OK Carol..... I have been working on Samantha. If her personality is anything like the tuff time she is giving me then I would have to say that she is a piece of "work"!!!!

I have to admit that right she's not a piece of art "work" LOL but I hope when I am done that there will be some type of resemblance.

Samantha's expression is kicking my butt so I am going to put her to bed for tonight and try to finish her tomorrow.

You have me laughing like crazy.. Samantha will love that she is being a character..she does have a Tuff Personality... her face was a bit of a challenge .. she has that jaw locked and giving the camera all she has !!! perhaps by morning you will have relaxed enough to "Get R Done.".

I used the tinted charcoals again, apart from Kaitlyn's jacket and trousers. It measures about 8 x 11 ins. There's some really great efforts coming this week. Well done, Carol and the rest of you!

Not only do I like this .. I love it.. The shining highlights in her hair is amazing.. When I first looked at the thumbnail of the drawing it looked like little glimmers and when I opened it .. Wow I could see the light shining on her .. Not seeing her hands and just the expression .. she still has that pleading look.. I would say you got this one for sure.. Thanks so much !!

Norma you are really giving those tints a good work out.. I am so thrilled you did this one.. When I can muster up some time I hope to do it as well.. The horse is amazing !!.. You can see from the eyes and his mouth he his smiling .. So am I !!

Hey Tex! lol

I don't know if I want to embarrass myself with posting my drawing. I can't do any more because there are no more fibers left on the paper. the more I touch it the worse it gets.
I don't know what I was thinking the lights are suppose to be dark and darks light. I've tried upside down, right side uo inside out , right side in and any which way else there is. I hate to say it but I throw in the towel on this little cutie pie. I'm sorry, I was really looking forward to try to draw her great little expression but I think I have been distracted by my little devils... I mean angels.

Right now I am about to pack a bag and take Ava to the emergence room, she's having very bad asthma episode and I have everything here except the oxygen.

please pray for my baby girl to get better. I will have a few days there so I may just try to tackle her again!

well I'll post it anyway... here goes. I hava to say that it looks better in the picture... thank god. I'm sorry Carol and Samantha I tried.

Thank you all for your thoughts, IO brought Ava home from the hospital this morning, They gave her a few breathing treatments and kept her on the monitors for a little while. It's crazy,if I pack for a hospital trip for Ava then we end up going home. If I don't pack then we end up staying for 3 or 4 days. I pack everything like we're going on vacation. lol

I'm so happy Ava is ok and back home.. Will her asthma get better as she gets older? I've never had to deal with it so I have no idea. It's sad that she has such severe attacks that require hospital.

Life is always like that Chris, everything is backwards.. lol.. Just make sure you're always well packed and most likely Ava will come home the same day every time.
