Hiya! Found this site wandering around the internet and thought it would be awesome to be able to converse with a bunch of other artists on work and style and stuff. I am always in the process of learning more and welcome critique with open and thankful arms. I think you can check the few I have posted in my album but I am not really sure I did that right so I guess I will have to see. Anyway thanks for having the place I look to have fun here.

Hi Marcia!!! Welcome to Drawspace. We are glad to have you. I went to view your gallery and noticed you have 3 pictures posted but I think they are private. Soooooo I think if you want people to see them (which when i first started drawspace, I did the same thing) you need to go under your user controls and set it to public viewing. Need any help or anything just ask. Someone is always around to help. Ohhh yeah we also have this kinda "rule" that we like members to post a picture of themselves in their avatar so we know what the person we are talking to looks like. ( Just kidding...you don't have to if you don't want to it just nice to see peoples face.. ) So hope to see you around in the other threads!!!

Ah okay, thanks that will help...um, one question. One of the drawings is a nude, done in good taste but still a nude. I don't want to offend anyone so is that okay. I didn't think I saw anything in the rules, but I may have missed it.

Oh and I have no problem with posting my picture, I just couldn't decide if I wanted to do that or one of my drawings, makes the choice easier this way. Thanks!

Got it fixed to public but if there is an issue with the one image please let me know so I can remove it imediately, or one of the moderators I am sure can do it for me...

Lady Acoma - there are pictures much more graphic than yours in the gallery. Although there are children who visit this site, I have never heard anyone complain about the nudes in the gallery.

Marcia...great self picture!!! I don't see a problem with posting nudes and I have seen them in other members galleries too. Besides, nudes are a way of learning to acurately draw the human anatomy and a way of learning. As far as your picture goes you know I was just kidding right? You could have used one of your drawings if that was your wish. I like to tease alot so don't ever take me seriously. One of the great aspects of this site is EVERYONES wonderful personalities!!!! Ohhh cool I just noticed you are a fellow Michigander!!!

Hello and welcome

Oh yeah I understood that you were just kidding. Let's say I come from a background of much more...erm, cut throat but in an oddly community oriented way, so I know how to take Many kinds of jokes and ribbing and am happy for it.

I just wanted to make sure with the nudes, normally fellow artist share the same views about nude art, but I did want to check just to be safe. Life drawing is one of my favorite things to do, I feel it really helps me to understand movement and weight, and shading and such when I do other things. I am very big on learning anatomy for all I can get from it.

Do try to find time to participate in the challenges and sketching. threads, they're very useful to develop skills.

As for nude drawings, there are no hard and fast rules here at the moment, but the suggestion is to pre-warn your audience as the site does include children. So something such as 'This image contains nudity' should be sufficient as a notice.
