Hi everyone! I just joined this site a couple of days ago. So far, I'm very impressed. I'm a beginner in the world of drawing, but it's something I've always wanted to do. My husband is an excellent artist, and I've always been jealous of him. So, I decided to learn myself, and I think this site will be an excellent resource for me.

I will post some of my first drawings as soon as posssible. They are my very very first drawings, so I will love some feedback.

Anyways, thanks everyone for being here. I love this site!

Andrea...Welcome to Drawspace!!!! It is a great site isn't it? I love here and have been addicted since I started in August. The people are wonderful and great helps for anything you may be struggling with. Everyone starts somewhere. So you just starting is still good. A good book for you to read on learning to draw is by Betty Edwards..."Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain". It is great for beginners because it teaches you basically how to focus and use mind and hand cordination. Plus, I am sure if your husband is a good artist than he can probably be the biggest help to you. My husband I have been told from his parents is a great artist too and even had the special " teacher asks you to to sign up for the advanced art class only way to get in" and he has no interest whatsoever anymore in art. Then I hear from his sister that he drew this magnificent portrait of her that was the next day ruined by her 5 year old coloring on, just a few years before I met him. So if he offers the help take it!!! I hope to see you also participating in the Draw Challenges!!! They are a great way of helping to develope your drawing from photos too. The book I mentioned is also at most local libraries and is a great resource. So hope to see you around in the other threads!!!!

Welcome Andrea77 - join us in the challenges and on the threads, its a lot of fun and the people here are great. You can learn alot here just from the other artist's knowledge. Don't be shy there are lots of beginners and lots of advanced artists here. Can't wait to see some of your work.
