I have never painted, so I am at a loss. I have done a sketch of Tigger for the challenge and I would very much like to paint him. I have copied the sketch to my 'canvas' now what? Do I start with the lightest colors, the background, his features, or what? His background is white with a small bit of 'grass' under his feet.

Thank you so much.

It all depends on the picture.. I tend to paint from background to foreground and dark to light but that is just personal preference. There is no wrong way.. just what works for you.

Oh of course, I didn't mention what media I was using. Silly me! I am using acrylics at the moment, might do another one in oil pastels, if I have the courage. The only media I am not attempting is oil paint, as I am a slob and I have no 'space' that is dedicated to my art.

Raidor, I should mention I am do not speak Deutch as a first language. I am the spouse of a servicemember stationed here. However, I did manage to translate your comment enough so that I could understand what you meant. Please feel free, I beg you, to always reply to me in Deutch, as I am trying to better understand the language. Thank you!

Danke Raidor, I will add the book to the Amazon shopping list. I finished the picture, I chickened out and ended up using a mixed media of pen and oil pastels. Heh. I will post it in my gallery one of these days.

Thanks agian.
