I attempted the Lamp. This was a very hard pic to do and almost gave up on it.
Not great but I think you can at least make out what it is...

We have to find a solution for that. I have the same problem with my wrong handed cat, it's too light.
Maybe I can find someone with a good camera to photograph it for me, or first copy it in a good copy shop.
Does any of you have another idea? huh.gif

Not sure, my scanner won't even scan the paper, it is a smart thing and decides that I have not put the picture in it. I am currently working on another so I can post it for the challenge.

Wow excellent work Monika. So much detail. Love the reflections on the glass. Great depth with the darks. I hope you are feeling better now too.

Here are a couple that I had a go at. They are very loose as I'm having trouble with my wrist again lately. But I am actually having fun with the style.

Cat done in pen and watercolour pencil.

Landscape in liquid graphite.

thank you Jacqui and Garyfallia smile.gif

Jacqui - both of your drawings are excellent, loose is beautiful too. I love the cat, very nice combination of wc and pen and colors are awesome. Great work on the landscape with that liquid graphite, all the important details are there. Hope your wrist gets better soon. smile.gif

oh and thank you for well wishes. I'm finally feeling much better. smile.gif

I have chosen the Vespa Bike in grays, although it seems harder to draw than it looks.
I gotta question about: should I include all background with detail in my work? Or the bike is just enough? I would like to be on time with the drawing...
It's my first work for the weekly challenge, I'm newcomer.
Slaine
its totally up to you how much you do of the picture wink.gif

and welcome to the challenges
Gwiazda
Here it is, the bike.
Oops, I forgot the name plate. However, didn't filled the body intentionally.
Sorry for white balance - I have poor light enviroment here. The paper is white, I assure.
Nerine
Hi Everyone,

It's great to see all your drawings.

I love the colors in Texas Lady's cat. There so warm and attractive.

Good you didn't give up the lamp Jon. Never give up, if things get to worse just start over again after you asked us first if its really that bad as you think it is. Your lamp survives the test of critics whistling. It was a difficult choice and I think you did very well.

Not bad for a lunchtime drawing Sergiomig. What you did here is something I'd like to learn as well. I tried to draw a dog during a conversation at a visit last night but I'm hardly able to recognize it. You did very good.

Da Lamp is brilliant Monikam, well done.

Garyfallia, you made an interesting and difficult challenge for this week, thank you very much.

I couldn't be here yesterday and today because I'm traveling around for four days. I did manage finish up my wrong handed cat before I left the scanner though. It is opposite of the real one to mark the difference. I planned to do the original in colorpencil with my right, left hand but this trip and the preparations for it took all what was left of my time.
Wink three times and the week is over, it's amazing how fast time flies.
I got my drawing just dark enough to scan but soon as I got some more time I will check out your program Raidor. It could work on those color drawings as well. Thank you for the tip.

Monday I'll be home again so see you all in the next challenge biggrin.gif

Hi Gwi,

Its good to see you found your way here.
Well done your bike.
The nameplate is just a gratuitous evil and therefore only distracting. Leaving things is an art as well.

See you next week again smile.gif
JacquiP
Nerine that cat is awesome, and to have done it with your "wrong" hand. Wow.

Gwiazda you did an excellent job. Nice detail, great curves. Hope to see you here more often.

Nerine - I admire you for drawing with your left hand.. that's an excellent job you did. Bravo!! smile.gif

Gwiazda - The bike is great. Nerine is right, leaving things out is ok. Sometimes I leave things out on purpose because I feel more artistic doing so. smile.gif

Sorry, I'm so late, but I really wanted to try this lovely scene. Where is it? I want to be there!! I used 'mixed media' - soft pastels, tinted charcoal and coloured pencils on cartridge paper - about8 x11 ins.

Fantastic Picture!!! I love the shading!

I absolutely love the light bulb reference picture. I would love to get my colored pencils on that one. I will do it if I have time, but I have midterms and a lot of homework to catch up on as of now. I want to do it so bad though!!!
