This is a painting I did of pairs. It was my first time using acrylic paint. Please let me know what you think smile.gif

The highlights are really well done -- the pears look nice and round.

I think the sharp outlines around the pears are kind of distracting. I don't know if there's actually white canvas showing there, or if it's the flash reflecting off a graphite underdrawing.

acrylic is hard for me so I am no judge lol I think you have done a pretty good job the only thing I see is the white around the edges of the fruit blending into the background and maybe a bit more shadow and high lights ..I have tried doing paints but i fail so badly lol .

the pears have become very good and fit well with its colors to the background - only you are very greedy with the paint wink.gif

the background is not coverage = can see the canvas shine through

.. even at the edges of the fruit you can still see the canvas

Proposal:
mix again the color of the background with a little yellow color, make this color mixing very fluently
and wear this color mixing as lasur/ glaze with a small sponge in light circular motions over the whole image ; may be that you have to do it several times around the white areas to cover

ps: the borders of the fruits = paint them first with a gray color

I dont understand the part with being greedy with the paint lol tongue.gif

I know there was the white of the canvas showing and i had a hard time getting it to go away without ruining the picture..
but i took everyone suggestions and critisim and tried to fix it to the best of my ability.
again this was my first time using acrylic paint so I wasnt quit sure how to go about it.

This is my fixed one:
Let me know if I should fix anything else please

Now, this is already much better - but the edges of the fruit could get even more color = there's still to see something of the canvas

You have dilute white paint lower on the fruits = the effect: now looks like mold wink.gif

the same mistake I have done wink.gif

made a better mix white paint to lighten the base color and paint this as lasur over and use the pure white color for the highlights

what do you use as white paint - Titanium or Zinc ?

I use more Titanium-white

I like this alot .. like I said painting I find much harder you do not have the control as you do with pencils ...you fixed the problem I seen and now it looks great smile.gif
