Hi Folks,
What a great site this is for artists! After browsing around a bit I am truly humbled! So, now I want to become a better artist. This forum is popular and busy. What work should I be posting for critique - that which I know sucks (like my cross-hatching), or everything I would like an opinion on?
Frankly, while I get a warm & fuzzy anytime someone likes my work, receiving a down-to-earth appraisal which gets me back to the drawing board is more valuable for me biggrin.gif

When it comes to posting in the critique thread, I will post both. I will do a drawing with crosshatching and tell them that is what I want critiqued. Or if I need a drawing critiqued then that is where I will go also. There are threads for different things, the challenges, weekly sketches, Jeanette had one for shading, etc. In those cases you would post your picture to the appropriate threads. The more you join in the more you get out of it. Not to mention practice, practice, practice.( I heard that somewhere)

Hi Mandevu. As Paulette said, it depends on what you want to participate in as to what you post.

THere are a number of different threads varying from sketching to more complex drawing to critiques. The choice is yours.

Don't feel intimidated. We're all here to learn from each other. smile.gif

Thanks for your response Paulette and Jeanette. Although I am mainly interested in cartooning (which many do not consider to be art) I would like to participate in as much as I can, but alas, I have such a busy schedule! sad.gif

There is a cartoon in the Drawing Challenge this week - give it a try if you have time.
