Great tutorial! Though here's something quick I'll add to it. With women who wear mascara, the lashes are usually extended and a little more pronounced in their clumps. The direction of the lines remains the same though.

This made a big difference in getting the eye right, thank you

Brenda,
I find myself remiss in not thanking you for these great lessons. I have done many of the beginner lessons and right now I am working on freaky freddy as I am in dire need of shading and blending help. These lessons have encouraged me to continue where I might give up. I find that I will go my own way but as soon as I run into trouble I look in the lessons for more help. I like the way you guide us with simple steps and fun projects.
P.S. Isn't Olddad the greatest, he never forgets to give feedback on the lessons.

I did ok. Not as easy as it seems. But I drew the bottom eye lashes to dark. Oh well more practice. mellow.gif

looks like an important thing to learn in order to achieve great drawing effects.

OK, I looked at a photo of an eye to do this one. I noticed some things. At the bottom where the eyelashes grow out are the darkest and the hair holes (or whatever you call 'em) are very close together, so I started the hairs rather close. I can't post it, as I had to erase and go over and the paper is full of dents. The bottom eyelashes looks great though.

wow I just signed up for this website and I scrolled down to the end of this lesson and saw that you wrote the book "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Drawing People" and I smirked as I got up, walked over to the bookshelf, and grabbed your book off of it! I will probably actually get off of the computer and read some of it but anyway good tutorial lol
