They were freckles but I no longer have them as dark only a couple.

I think the drawings are great ...look at my clothes how retro is that ...it was a toss up between the two .. this one was taken of me when i lived in vegas and I was drawing in my art pad ...but it was very dark and hard to see detail .
monikam
I see some fantastic contributions here since I last checked.

Marie and Jonyates - Love the portraits. Both look great!!

Alinai - The marbels look amazing, so real. Same thing with the statue. Brilliant!

Kilo - Max is adorable. Great work!!

Slaine and Siks portraits are always a challenge because it like you have to be exact ...but really the more you do the better you become .. i think these are great ! but they are of me smile.gif I love seeing how people do the same picture only are so different .

Great job Monika! I had to start all over on my "little Kim". There were a few areas that I was having trouble with and I couldn't for the life of me fix them. I decided just to start over because I couldn't erase anymore. I will probably work on it a little longer and then just post it no matter what. It's a great photo so I really want it to come out good. huh.gif
jimm2003
Well here's my version of the marbles. I started with charcoal and finished with pencil. hmm.... dry.gif

Good work everyone!
I like all the different interpretations.

OK... so I started my drawing of Kim. It was going OK but I just wasn't happy with it the further I went on. After I had erased and erased I threw in the towel and decided to start over.

The second round was going OK, better than the first and I was feeling good about . I started entering my downward spiral as I was touching things up so I decided to be done with it.

I like how the second one turned out (except of course for the hair huh.gif), the shirt is a mess, I need some major help in that dept. The hand is horrific, I have drawn a few portraits with a hand in it and they turned out pretty good but I don't know what happened to this one. Oh, I forgot one, I tried to do that little wispy hair on her cheek and I shouldn't have ( this is in the second attempt)

Welp... here is my lil' Kim drawing. I'll include the pic of both drawings and a side by side.

Any tips and critiques would be great!

I can't do critiques yet as I am still a beginner myself but I think this is great work Chris. You definitely captured her expression. The hair is not finished but it's got a great flow to it so you were definitely on the right track. smile.gif

Thank you all for the comments on my drawing. smile.gif

A very late entry, and one that flouts the rules. But I know the person running the challenge, and I'm pretty sure she'll let me get away with it. Watercolor on Canson Montval cold press paper, 12x9" .

Kim... ashamed of myself for not joining in earlier.. got a little side tracked on the pencil fun.. As always I need a watercolor fix after I do a bunch of them ..loose with some color usually cures my black and white world..

another Kim for your scrapbook..
