Hi all,
I am your host for this months ATC swap.........please check out the thread on hosting for available dates if you want to try your hand.........its not so hard, and without new hosts these fun swaps may disappear.
This month's theme is "Old MacDonald had a Farm...".
This means anything to do with a farm - the farmhouses, barns, animals, dams, paddocks - whatever takes your fancy about the good life on the land - even corn as high as an elephant's eye.
Click to view attachment Click to view attachment Click to view attachmentSign up starts from now and closes in 7 days on the 13th March. Then we have a month to finish our cards and post them out......that's by the 10th April.
If you know you can't meet those deadlines please pass on this one and join when you have the time - but as always life can throw us a curve........so if something happens after we all sign up let us know - we all get attacked by several days at once every now and then
If you haven't traded before then don't be put off.............this is a art card exchange .....done in any medium, but no computer art or prints,...........the size must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches........please stick to the theme and most of all have fun!
And for those of you peeking in and too afraid to join us yet............join us in the thread admiring the cards and having fun with us.................. and maybe you'll be brave enough to join the next time.
As you sign up, please pm to me your postal address so that we can get the list out to everyone as soon as sign up is finished.

This year I am working at a school with mostly African American underprivileged children. I have been learning a WHOLE new way of talking. And it is FUN. So with that said . . .
Don't be stalking me girl!

Count me in for sure! Farming has been my passion and my work for many years, and although I now live in town, my heart still longs for the country life. What a great theme for a trade.

I have 2 made at the moment and for those who get my water colors please excuse them I am still learning, I know the techniques, I'm currently in Painting 1 in school it's just I just find paint in general incredibly difficult to work with. Graphite and charcoal will smear but only if you touch it Paint though I can rarely apply a wash that does not leave paint in pools and then sometimes when I'm just trying to pain I'll move to select a different color and I see that a big paint blob has run half way down my paper. It's frustrating!!

Tania, you know i'm usually last minute so i'm trying to get a head start for once. I started on 7 of them only 2 are done though. I'll try to continue on them tonight because last night I talked with my roomate for too long and next thing you know it was midnight and we both had to go to bed. Last ATC I had started out good I was done all my cards way before the due date except I hadn't coloured any of them :S so I had to finish them in the weekend. (again last minute

) So hopefully this time I can get them done early for once.

I am so glad that you decided to join us Lily - am looking forward to your take on the farmyard topic. Is it you who plays on the farm in facebook?
Tania, I am wondering if Old MacDonald would have a few odd creatures if he was living in SA. Perhaps a water buffalo or two - or even more exotic critters from that part of the world.

Thanks.
Tania. People used to have scavenger hunts at parties. The host would provide a list of things and hand it out to the guests. They would go around to neighboring houses and see if they could find and borrow or have the things on the list. First one back to the party with the complete list was winner.
The Scavenger Hunt on Wetcanvas is about drawing from life. Every 9 days someone posts a list of 26 things that we are to hunt for and sketch. We can do all or some or even one. The purpose is to keep everyone sketching from life and provide a list so that if someone wants to sketch, the don't have to spend their time trying to figure out what to sketch. You always have your list. Everyone usually uploads their sketches and shares with the others.
Some of the hunters join in to practice different things. Some practice with a new digital tablet, some sketch with pen only so no erasing, and others practice doing more detailed sketches. It also provides an easy way to try a new medium. It's also lots of fun and we have a friendly bunch. We lose some and gain some along the way. I have been there for all 168 hunts.

I finished 2 more when I was at work. I sketched 4 and was able to colour 2 of them but then it got a bit more busy so I didn't get to colour the 2 other ones. So I've coloured a sheep dog and a goose, and I have to colour a goat and a duck.
