then why not just keep practising with some more farm critters Monika? You could end up with your very own hobby farm! I got your lovely Picasso card today.
Roxy you are so quick this swap! Can't wait to see which one I get (oh and off topic I just got your gorgeous Picasso card too)

Sue, you'll probably get your card pretty soon too. I sent the Picasso cards a few days late :S I'll try to make sure i'm not late on the next trade because I already know what the theme is. I have a few ideas already in my mind. Last night I bought a pencil case for my 120 prisma colors I hope to get it soon in the mail. It'll make it easier to bring my pencils around and easier to bring them at work. I always have some time at work when i'm waiting between calls

Well we are starting to move everything we
hope to have everything moved in by today

As soon as we get done and I have the chance I'll post my new address. I'm so sorry for this delay I knew that from the stuff happening at home we would be moving soon but I didn't know it was this month, I asked my mom if I could do this and she said yea. If I knew that all this would be happening I would of waited till another month. But anyways thank you guys for being patient I'll try to post my address asap.

Boy - Roxy and Monika are way ahead of the game and they look super! Mine, on the other hand, are not going well at all. Can't seem to find my groove and none of them are turning out at all! I am a bit distracted though because, like Jonathon, I will be moving into my new house soon and my mind is filled with the details. I will try to work on them this weekend. Maybe the muse will visit perhaps?

Ooooh Debora and Jonathon how exciting - new homes to explore and decorate and play with. I hope that move went well for you Jonathon, and goes wonderfully smooth for you Debora.
I am sure that I am not the only one who will understand how these things can put your plans into disarray. I hope the muse comes and sits gently on your shoulder Debora. Have fun in the new homes.
I have mine sketched out and some colour applied - will work on them this week and hopefully get them posted by the beginning of next week - I was so slow on the last one I want to improve in this one.

Roxy,
I got the Goat today . . . thanks . . . it is wonderful!
I am not a procrastinator at all, however, I will not be doing my card for you (and all) until next week. I have Spring Break starting this Friday and then am off for an entire week. All day Saturday I will be a Quiz Meet with my children and will have HOURS of sitting time. I am going to work on many of them that day. I am working with a technique that I use with my students. For those of you that are caught in traditional modes of producing art (colored pencil, watercolor, etc) this will be a stretch for you. When I am finished, I will post pictures of them and tell you about the process. Until then . . .

Jonathon - Sorry to hear you won't be able to carry on with the ATC - but moving is more involved than originally meets the eye. All the best with your new home
Garth - Sounds exciting, looking forward to this new technique of yours

I managed to sketch out 8 cards this weekend and i'm starting to add color, so I will post them as soon as I can!!

I hope that the move all works out well and so sad you can't play, but I hope you'll pop in when you're tired of unpacking boxes and see what we are all up to. And I hope you will be fresh enough to join in the next swap when it gets started.
Be careful of the china!

Thanks Monika. I think what hit me the hardest about my friends' passing was the fact that they were both my age or close. With my friend Sharon, I miss our daily emails and the conversations back and forth about our favorite tv show. Even tho we lived so far from each other and hadn't been close or seen each other for so many years, almost every day something reminds me of her. And yes I sure hope my art can take over my life again. It's time.

I am still struggling on .........sorry I have been off air, but I have had a nasty change of season cold and have been barking more than my dogs! I have sore ribs and unfortunately I haven't gotten any colour work done - been afraid of mucking it up in a coughing fit. Plus I have been sooooooo tired because I've been so stuffed up at night.
But the pipes are starting to clear and I'll be getting going again this week.
While I couldn't work I looked at some on-line art shops in the middle of the night when I couldn't breath lying down..............yup, you guessed it I ordered some Prismas..........I use Faber - Castell, and some are a little soft so I thought I'd add to the supplies.
A little present for going back to ful time work .................. my excuse & I'm sticking to it!

Drawspace friends,
First off, I am sorry for not getting my cards out on time to all of you. I could use the excuse that I have a farm to run, work full time, and homeschool 6 children, but it would be a lie. I do do all those things, but the real reason why I am late sending them out . . . is . . . there is NO GOOD REASON. I am late . . . tardy . . . and I don't have a pass!

I did receive everyone's cards, and they are all cute. They will find a great home in my ATC notebook. I sent out all the cards yesterday and you all should get them soon.
For this trade I did a different technique on the cards. They will all have an urban feel to them, contrary to farm life, and are quite graphic in nature. I started with a grid, and drew a picture of my farm on it. That was after I Gimped it and broke the colors down to a minimum. ( 4 cards wide and three cards high) In all I made twelve cards. One of you will get two. (I just randomly put cards in envelopes and let fate determine who gets what) I then colored the picture using crayons. I know, CRAYONS? Yes, regular crayons. The surface area was built up with wax. Next, I brushed them with drawing ink to cover the crayon. I now had black cards with crayon under it. On two of the cards I scratched out the image. The goose and the rabbit. The rest of the cards were not cooperative with that technique, so I adapted. On the remainder of the cards I drew silhouetted images of animals. All the animals (excluding the pig that will be here this summer) live here on my family farm (Foutfolk Farm). I chose not to name or title the works but instead use the Ole McDonald had a farm way of addressing the animals. "A cow", or "a horse" for example.
The image of the pieces isn't that good, but I hope you get an idea of what you will be getting in the mail soon.
Thanks again for the trade . . . and your patience.

Wow Garth - what a neat technique and the result is really beautiful and unique. Kind of reminds me of cave drawings with color. Love them all and can't wait to see which one lands in my mailbox!
