Hi.

What product or products can be used that would allow water colour on top. Say a person is working on a collage type project, where they have a couple of layers of various paper types, and want to fix that all, and then wash over with water colour.

What can I use ?

Thanks

I don't want to fix the water colour, I want to "fix" the surface below, so that I can water colour on top of mixed papers.

... something like this...but when I paint over, I want to use water colours.

Have you had a look at transparent papers? You could fix it over the original collage and then paint on the transparent paper. Someone may have some names of brands you could try with watercolor. I would imagine it would be like the paper you use to print color transparencies with an inkjet printer.

Just a thought.

IRBaboon was doing color pencil on drafting film. Maybe he has tried a wash with it. Try sending him a personal message. I also saw that Canson has a transparent drawing paper.

Link to IRBabbon's Gallery with an example of CP on film.
