You need three to five good quality pictures.

Everyone is welcome to host, it's a lot of fun to see your photographs turned into drawings.

I was thinking (if possible, cause i don't want to step on any toes) maybe we could spice things up a bit and make it a bit more fun.
Maybe we could hear what others have to say and get some ideas?!?! what do you think?


I was thinking that perhaps when we host a challenge we ensure that we have one photo from each of the following categories so that there is something for everyone to draw and it's a wide variety. Eg:
1. Landscape
2. Animal (Bird, Insect, Mammal, Reptile etc.)
3. Portrait / People
4. Still Life
5. Macro Picture (something close up and interesting to draw)
6. Nature (Flower, Tree, Plant etc.)

Just some suggestions - let me know what you think.

Oooh, insects would be cool. I've been making a series of ATCs lately about insects. There are so many millions of species it's almost impossible to get bored drawing them. Or in finding new insects you've never seen before.

I think its a good idea Tania! I don't always do the challenges but sometimes I want to. Maybe one day I'll join in again

I think that's an awesome idea Tania!! More variety will pull more people in and make challenges more fun.

Great idea, Tania! I'm hosting the next challenge, and I have thousands of photographs (yeah, I have a camera and I'm not afraid to use it), so I can easily post a photo in each of those categories. Let's give it a whirl and see what everyone thinks!

Whicher - instects are great - i have a fantastic photo that i am going to post up when i host the challenge on the 21st March - so check it out and join in if you can!!

Yes, this is a good idea. It should attract more people to the challenges. But I'm a bit worried that there would be even less hosts.

What if we asked to pick at least, say, 4 or 5 categories from the list?

I will put it in as a suggestion for hosts to go by.
But, I am with Siks, our host pool is so narrow at times that it can be hard to gather pictures as it is.
Yet who knows, with more guidelines maybe new hosts will come forward and surprise us.

Hi Paulette - I didn't think about the hosts finding pics and making it more difficult that way.
It's not a hard and fast rule - but just guidelines maybe... it might give people the opportunity to get out their camera's and get snapping.
