Full Version: Improving this type of drawing

Hi guys,

I kinda like the way this drawing turned out (more or less) but im quite interested in maybe doing a range or gallery, in similar style but different faces. Im interested to know if there anything that i can do improve on or change for the next one. The area i struggled with was the eyes and I still struggle to get the depth or "real" feel to them that i had in my head. This was first drawing of its type that i tried so anything i can do to improve on the next would be appreciated.

If it helps its colour pencil on A3 mounting board.
Cheers

The thing I would do is not try and use what you see in your head, although you seem to be really good at it! Get some high resolution photos for reference. The eyes are the most critical part of any portrait especially animals, so do everything possible to nail them.
Nice job and good luck with the next one!
