Sketch Fiend
Alright, if you like to draw fantasy, dragons, goblins, robots, space ships, comics, and guys with swords. Then I'd love to talk with you. I like to draw pretty much all of the above and very little still life and realistic faces. (check out my gallary) and I love to do stuff in color. So yeah, les talk.

Last night I did three drawings in marker, a creepy wolf, a death walker 8000, and a goblin with wings happy.gif I'd post em now but I'm in Minnisota and I don't have a scanner or a camera. I colored em too and they're pretty sweet. I'll post em when I'm back in I.L.
kim1963
I love to draw fantasy ...some are nudes but I really like the female form .. here is a couple
Sketch Fiend
oh, that's fine I was just messing with that. Well yes indeed. I like the dragon one. that's pretty cool. You do mostly midevil fantasy then right? That's my favy
racedolls
kim i just love your work-- you do a beautiful job.
Lori
darus67
Yes, beautiful work, Kim.

I look forward to seeing yours, too, Sketch Fiend.

What I'd like to be able to draw is fantasy architecture. Castles and dungeons and that sort of thing. Also, sci-fi stuff, both architecture and other hardware.

If you've seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies, the sketches they show behind the end credits really turn me on. I love that stuff.
Sketch Fiend
Ooh, cool stuff. Yeah I loved LOTR and I love all the citys and the strategy behind and what not. I never watched many of the extras as there were tons of them but yeah.

heh heh. My little sister asked me to draw a pirate for her and it came out pretty well. He's gotta hook, peg leg, fancy hat, hoop earing, eye patch, every thing. I can't wait to post these on here!
kim1963
I never use to like fantasy but after I started playing D&D I began drawing up characters for the game and befor i knew it I was drawing fantasy .
I would also like to draw midevel buildings .. the stone is very hard and time consuming .
Sketch Fiend
ooh, D&D. Cool, I don't play but I do play a big rip off of it called Hero Scape. Fun stuff. And stone and what not, it can be really hard. I'm not a real big fan of drawing it. lol and I'm really close to posting those new pics. I just need to get them photo copied
Sketch Fiend
sweet, I just posted them. I'll admit some aren't that great but there they are lol
kim1963
I looked through your gallery .. nice .
I never thought i would play D&D but it is a fun game .
Sketch Fiend
Well thanks happy.gif I've looked through your's too and a lot of it is pretty darn impressive.
Aviation
I like your goblin and wolf. I think what you need is a background. If you add a sweet setting it would make it look more imaginative.

I am currently working on a gargoyle. Its going to look cool when I am done with the historic city its overlooking. Sadly its not in color.
kim1963
Post your gargoyle so we may see . smile.gif
Sketch Fiend
yeah I'd love to see it too. And I'm glad you liked mine biggrin.gif Yeah I really should add some sort of a back ground. thanks for the advice
Aviation
Well, there is a reason why I don't have any of my artwork uploaded. I don't have a scanner and I don't have the greatest access to my digital camera...well, thats because Its not mine. sad.gif

Just beacause you guys are so eager to see it, Ill try harder to upload it. wink.gif

Sketch Fiend
Sweet, sweet. Don't forget! Hm. You won't forget.
Aviation
Of course I won't forget, I just have to take the picture and learn how to get it on the computer.

Getting it on the computer is usually what hinders me.
kim1963
I hear ya there hun .. I such at almost anthing electronic lol

dragon tutorial
Aviation
Well I am not that technologically challenged. My brother is the one who takes care of anything in the technology area because he is a computer engineer major but its hard to ask him anything because then he gets frustrated.

Me: "I want to print something but the printer won't print. It cannot access the printer, it came up with an error and froze....Yeah I tried that...and that...(5 minutes later)...There is an on switch on the printer too?!"

Anyway, I have decided with putting it on the rooftop of a church, so there will be a steeple next to it and then you can see the city.
xamoshi
hey, do you have elves?, like those of tolkien's elves? I'm interested in them...
Sketch Fiend
I haven't drawn anything like an elf in a while. I might now though lol jw but Why the interest?
horsewhisperer
Here is my 'Fantasy Warhorse".
[attachmentid=1987]
Watercolor, PC, and pastel on watercolor paper...measures about 17x22 inches.

Cheers all.

Paul

kim1963
Paul that is awsome .. looks like a tattoo .. very sharp !
Pammy
Kim great work Hun. And Paul that is NICE! I just have one question...how do ya get the picture inside your head to work its way down to the paper biggrin.gif ? I think I have a shorted out circuit cause mine always gets twisted between my head and my hands LOL
kim1963
Its not that easy for me .. I sometimes look at a picture and get ideas and then make it mine but changing things .. most times it looks totaly different ....once I drew barbra Striesand so much that after the 50 th time .. I could draw her without looking at the picture lol .
Sketch Fiend
Wow, that is an insanely good horse. I like it alot. That's what I'm talking about. that's what I wanna do.
horsewhisperer
Hey All,
As you can see from my nic, Im a horse fanatic. wub.gif
While I was drawing this, I could hear the wind, smell the smoke, see the steam from his flesh, and feel the trembling of muscle and constrained strength...
I still get goosebumps and prickly hairs when I look at it...
I too look at pics and make a whole series of changes, moderations, and/or deletions, which of course makes it mine (dont want to debate that point, you wont win wink.gif )
I as well used to play D&D, so much so that I almost lost my 3rd year of HS!!! blush.gif
I still read TONS of fantasy books, has anyone read Piers Anthony's Xanth series?? NOOOOOOO????? Oh my, dont rest until you do, it gave me alot of mental ideas for drawings...

And Pammy?? Sometimes twisted is good... rolleyes.gif

Cheers all.
Paul
Pammy
Paul you do have a point there biggrin.gif ! But getting the twisted image to convey the original concept is whats so hard tongue.gif
kim1963
Paul I agree totaly on your comment "look at pics and make a whole series of changes, moderations, and/or deletions, which of course makes it mine (dont want to debate that point, you wont win "
some may but you are right smile.gif
I have not read those books but I have read the terry goodkind books and those are wonderful also ... yes D&D could take up alot of time .. as I dont table top and years back alot did for weekends at a time .. i just do it on the computer .. its like joining in a making a story together with a few other players .. we only have like 5 players maybe 6 .. its fun and relaxing .
Sketch Fiend
Hmm, yeah I read lots and lots of fantasy books including the Black trilogy by Ted Dekker, the sea of trolls, the Eragon books, a trilogy called the Door Within, all of the Narnia books, and the Crimson Sword smile.gif I'm working on getting the first book of a series call the Rune Lords because I bought the second, wizard born, in a used book store for a dollar lol
imperor
Hello Skech fiend
If you like comic's, spaceships and stuf like that Im your man, I do it all just chek my galery it is a concept art for my comic book. I would realy like to hear what you think of it.
I also looked in to your galery and I think it is realy nice
Sketch Fiend
Ah thank you very much, imperor. But actually I've already looked through your gallery and quite alot of it is very impressive. looks like it took long time to do. smile.gif
Pammy
The Dragon Riders of Pern....anyone ever read any from that series..OMG I love those books. They are what inspired my first drawing of a dragon biggrin.gif . I need to see if my Mom still has it tucked away somewhere.... besides being the first it may be the only one still in existance laugh.gif after I purged my file cabinet during the divorce.
imperor
He he he actally it is quite easy once you have a vision of how it's gona look, scaning and painting on the other hand can take some time. But when you do something you like, time doesn't mater.
kim1963
I have looked through your gallery and you do really cool detail .. my nephew loves it lol with all the space men and army stuff ...you have a good eye for detail .
imperor
Well I am glad that your nephew like it I just hope one day that he and evry one alse could hold it in his hand as an real published comic book wub.gif blush.gif
Sketch Fiend
lol yeah I'm pretty sure all of us would like that. I know I would lol
kim1963
its a dream now .. but only you can make it real .. your talented and with that you seem to be a go getter her so if you want it bad you will have it .. someday we may say .. wow remember that guy in drawspace lol .. this is his comic lol smile.gif

smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif Very interesting thread, superb drawings! I'd love to have a go at fantasy - all types from fairies and dragons to castles and landscapes etc. I've never really done any, so this might be my chance to learn how!
Sketch Fiend - I listen to audio books when I paint etc, and I go the unabridged set of The Runes of the Earth for Christmas. I don't know if this is part of a series or not, but it's good listening! smile.gif Sylvia
imperor
Aaah from your lips to god's ears wub.gif Actualy I am traing to do something about it, to make it real. Recently I have been contacted by an editor of an magazine in Melburne, Australia, he looks very interested in my work and wants me to send him more drawings along with my biography.
So who knows maybe that aint so far a way dream. wink.gif biggrin.gif
And all that thanks to internet and myspace. smile.gif
kim1963
Well thats great news hun .. I am so glad to hear it .. you are good at what you do .. you must be so high right now lol

Alright! Go for it. I also listen to audio books, I listened to all of the focus on the family Narnia books, and they are really fun to listen to. But yeah the book was The Rune Lords but if you recommend The Runes of the Earth I look it up smile.gif
Sketch Fiend
just posted some new stuff. I think it could be labled as fantasy just a little bit lol happy.gif
Aviation
Well I am almost done with my Gargoyle. I am still brainstorming a city in the background. I like it though. Sorry I didn't rotate it. Thats what its like in my album. Ill fix it when I am done with it...I hope.
Sketch Fiend
Niiiice, that's a lot of detail you got there. I pretty much suck at all types of detail. I think if I end up doing anything for art as a job it will be in comics or something where someone else does shading. I think it would be cool to be an inker. smile.gif
Aviation
Yeah I am pretty big on details. The gargoyle itself took a whole four day weekend- which was thanksgiving- so since then I have been thinking and adding my background. The chain doesn't look too good up close even though that took me the longest time. I even broke out a plastic chain I had lying around to study it.

I don't know what career I want to pursue in the art field. I just know I want to study art in college.

A few weeks ago I was so happy because my family got a new printer that is also a copier and a scanner. Then I discovered that I had to use a memory card to scan because I couldn't upload the images straight to the computer since that requires the software but my brother got this for free so then I was disappointed. Can you believe the people were going to throw it out?
kim1963
I dont think you suck ....maybe on a straw smile.gif
Aviation
I don't think I implied I sucked at all.
Sketch Fiend
I think she was talking to me. And, Kim, if you were. Thank you very much biggrin.gif lol Aviation! I wannna do art in college too. I think it would be really cool to be an art teacher as well as a comic artist. lol

Oh she was talking to you? I seem to misunderstand people online a lot. wacko.gif
