Hi,im new. biggrin.gif And Ive been here before,just looking.But,back then I wasnt a member.I drew my avatar.Umm..well you may be suprised by my age.I would like you to guess!Please,I guess I am a beginer and this is my best work so dont blame me if you think it is slopy.Ugh,that is just about what I have to say.

Hello Lexi,

I have seen quite a few drawings in my time, I'll let you guess my age, and what I see the most in beginners is that they stop too soon.

You may have cropped this drawing and this is why there is no border around it. If not you should plan your drawing so that you have some borders for framing.

I'm sure that anyone would recognize not only that this is a dog, but what breed it is. That's pretty good if you ask me.
It looks like you used a stump for blending the graphite. This takes away all the detail. Use hatching techniques with just a very light blending when drawing. The stump may be faster but the results are quite different. Hatching will also allow you to build layers of graphite so you can work with the tones to create shadow and fur.
