Sonia, what a very pretty name.. the picture makes you smile as you work from it doesnt it? i couldnt help but having a big grin on my face as i attempted to draw her..you have captured the fun of the picture i think..whether or not it is a perfect piece. and seeing how vibrant these pastels can be, makes me want to finish up the tinted charcoal pencils that i have and just go with the pastels because the spectrum of color is more variant..the tinted charcoal only has 24 colors and some of them so close to each other they need not even be a seperate pencil. and the two mediums seems to operate basically the same.
have a good day

Kay, thank you very much!
I also love the pastels!! I love them for their beautiful and vibrant colors and their amazing effects!! I think I can manage them, but certainly not in portraits!!

I just wish I can learn how to draw faces... I love all your beautiful portraits! And the drawings you have made for this challenge are just wonderful! Congratulations!
Cheers,
Sonia.

I felt I had to try the giraffe as everyone else has done him. I used colour pencils on an odd piece of watercolour paper. I'm not sure about the texture. It measures about 8 x 10".

Thanks Kim. I've done 3 challenges this week, which will probably have to make up fpr next week as I'm going down to visit my daughter tomorrow, then carrying on down to see my big son after that. I sometimes wish the family wasn't so scattered, but it's nice to go away to see them - it's like a series of holidays.

Here's your daughter as an Art-Trading-Card. If she were to appear in a comic strip she might look like this.

Sveta, your giraffe looks fantastic, as with all of your works. You have a way with color that just blows me away, it's so beautiful. Even something as simple as a jar of peaches; you make it look bright and wonderful!

I just did it that size, because I've been fascinated by this ATC thing this week. It is not for a specific trade, but I'd be happy to send it to you when I send you a card in the next ATC. I'll just drop it in the envelope.

Hi, I actually had this done hours ago, unfortunately my internet shut down. Now that it is back up, here is my effort. I had to draw that adorable little imp. I drew it with graphite on 9X12 paper canvas. The finished pic is about 6X9ish.

drawing people is hard straight on .. move the head and it gets even harder.
