Welcome to Drawspace, Lolax3. This is a good place to start. Brenda's lessons are really good. You can get lots of help here too. Even if you think its a stupid question, go ahead and ask. Somebody will help you out. I hope to see some of your work soon and don't forget to join us in the challenges its a good practice place.

well i wont be entering challenges anytime soon

I am horrible at drawing... So im trying to do those beginner lessons and they don't seem to be looking good.

Be very persistant - and just keep practicing. Always think first before making a mark on your paper. You will get better even if you don't think so now. LOL

The challenges are for all levels. They are to challenge you, not to compare you to others. Sketching from life is also a great way to get in practice. I was a total beginner in October and am astounded at how much I have learned, and how much I still have to learn. The more you join in on this site the more you will get out of it.

Hi and welcome...I'm new here too. today is my first day. Although I am quite a bit older than you, the best advice I can give is to never give up. You will eventually develop a style that is truely your own. Don't compare your art with anyones. There will be days when nothing looks good, just do something else. Be good to yourself and keep in touch with those with similar interests.

The best advice I can give is experiment alot and don't be afraid to make mistakes because that's how you learn.
