I had the same problem with the one Jeanette posted for the portrait class and she sent it to me in my aol email. Can you do the same? I love the dragon too by the way. Its georgous!!! I am sure all of the kids and adults alike are going to love it. Maybe we can get some faeries going too?

Hi
This is a lovely dragon. I downloaded it and print it no problem.
I will definetely give it a try.
I don't have color pencils yet, but I know where to get some. hehe color pencils..........YES!
It's a great tutorial, just what I needed.
I have my young cousin, he is planing to refinish his bed room (medieval theme) and he was asking me about a dragon. Is it ok to use yours. If so I will let him know. He is starting to draw too. He might be able to do it himself, who knows. I would sure encourage him to do so.
Thanks for the tutorial. Just lovely.

Hi Kim, I've just tried to download your excellent tutorial, but it's the wrong format for me. Is there any way you could do it in a jpeg format, or tell me how I can make an application to read it as it is? Sorry to be such a pain!

It wanted to contribute or to give a suggestion in relation to this drawing or to its development with pencils of colors, pencils PRIMACOLOR are perfect for this work, it is due to work always applying the clear colors and very smoothly without much pressure on the paper little by little it is graduated the intensity as the color gradually acentuan the parts to stand out

Hi Pammy,
We've been having a hard time with the spam crap. There is a report button on the post. Click it and tell them if it is a single post or a whole thread. Normally they tell you not to click on anything, unless you recognize the source. In this post I would say it should be a PDF file. There are some very ugly people out there, eh.

Mindy I cant wait to see your progress

Oct 11 2008, 01:33 PM
Well, here's my progress. I've deviated just slightly from your dragon in the shape of the head, but I like him ok this way. Now for the coloring. All I have are starter sets of watercolor pencils. One set is Faber-Castel, the other is from a Reader's Digest Watercolor Pencil set and not even labeled by brand. Might be cheap pencils if not labeled huh? Oh well I'm trying them out now for better or worse...

your dragon looks great.....as for the pencils I have no clue but I have seen art done with crayola crayons so its not always the bfrand of a pencil ..good luck

This is my first dragon AND first color pencil drawing ever. Used WaterColor Pencils (dry on dry) on Strathmore sketch pad, finished size 8"x6", took about 30 minutes for initial sketch and 1 hour to color (I'm very slow and precise). I'm posting this now because once I take a wet brush over it, who knows what it'll look like. LOL good or bad I'll post it here, in case anyone's interested.

Oct 11 2008, 04:49 PM
Didn't turn out so bad. The water brightened it up a bit, made it a little more interesting. Thanks again for the tutorial, Kim (even if it is from 2 years ago).
