In this lesson you use simple hatching lines to render the texture and pattern of striped fur. The drawings you complete in this lesson may not be the most exciting works of art on the planet; however, the next time you draw a zebra or other striped animal, you’ll notice how much easier the fur is to draw, and that the animal looks a lot more realistic!

Found this lesson hard, unable to have the smooth transition of values as the examples provided. Will practice.

Good lesson, but I can see why some are having trouble with it. It's really a simple process to do this. Let me try and help some;
Draw about ten lines, about three inches long, next to each other closely.
Now in the center of those lines draw a one inch line between the the lines you just drew.
Now again draw one inch lines in between those lines and keep doing this till you get a dark band pattern.
That's it.
Here's the general rule; the more lines you draw together next to each other the darker the object will seem or look. The further apart the lines from each other are will produce an opposite effect, which means it will look like it is being hit with a lot of light.
Hope this helped those that were having problems with the lesson?

it would be kind of nice if we can have a lesson for tiger stripes, or of capturing predators' expressions in our drawings

Good exercise to practice fuzzy beeings. My hand is a bit tired but I did it . Of course not as perfect as Brenda's but quite well.
