I invite all members holding a Drawspace membership for 30 days or more to join in our ATC trade.
The theme is MUSIC/MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS...please lets do some of our best work on these cards ..we can start sign up now and give ourselves a week, end sign up on the 14th of March, to let others decide if they would like to participate and have until April 14th for deadline, that's four weeks to put out some really cute cards
For those who are just tuning in ...this is a art card exchange .....done in any medium, No computer art or printouts, ...the size must be that of a trading card, 2.5x3.5 inches...please stick to the theme and most of all have fun .
Please understand if you commit to doing the exchange you must finish all cards and get them out by the dead line of April 14th...if you fail to do so you may not be allowed to join other trades in DS .
Music/Musical Instruments, so again..lets stick to the theme..do our best work and most of all have fun!
As you sign up, please pm to me your postal address so that we can get the list out to everyone as soon as signup is finished, If you joined the last cat trade i still have your address..
Thanks

I'd love to join in! The Cats' trade has been a lot of fun! Still, I sent my cats two weeks and no cat of mine swam across the oceans, neither to the USA and Canada, nor to Australia!
Hopefully, my music will be faster.

Your atention please: I can officially anounce you all that the first card from Tsvetomira (Sveta) has arrived in Canada today!!! I have received a "Cat reading the newspaper" an incredible, laborious work in ink, that must have taken days to be finished. Sveta it is absolutely fabulous!! Lots of detail and hard work. I will try to scan it at the office before the week end. Thank you very much.
I have also received the sweetest kitty from Roxane (Dolphin paradise) drawn during a "Nap time". Beautifully drawn and really tender. Thank you very much.
And also I have received Ken's superbly drawn "Tiger" with an incredibly fierce expression in its eyes. Really an incredible work. Thank you Ken.
Wow, what a day!!

Sveta, don't worry - I'm a bit out of the way here and some cards take forever to arrive - I know that my cards to Gretchen will take forever and vice versa and I don't know why because Canada and Australia are both Commonwealth countries - a bit bizarre - but there you are. Anyway I am hoping that as I haven't gotten a card for a day or two there will be several in the letterbox tomorrow! But glad to see you in this trade too!

Would someone be interested in hosting the April trade? The theme would be your choice..I am going to be going to the oral surgeon for a consult on the 27 of this month and i guess it would be the beginning of april for them to do their thing and while I will participate it would probably be better if someone else had the responsibility of hosting.
I have no idea what i am going to feel like after, so just throw your hat in the ring to host for april for me if you would, first come, first host

Kay I was officially not busy for the first time in a long time. I had finished all my projects and finally felt free. That's why I hesitated to join. Plus hubby's work has been slow and he will be having carpal tunnel surgery. He will be home and will see just how much I spend in stamps. He might insist I get a job. OUCH!!! lol

the picture color is off..the water is not quite that color but i think you get the idea..
perhaps with the fuel prices and cutbacks the postal service had to downgrade from ships to motorboats..i can picture a lil motorboat making its way across a big ocean piled high with mailbags and the top teetering bag containing your card..

Hey animallovertje! Just jump right in when you feel comfortable - we all start somewhere and no-one expects someone who is just starting out to be a Michelangelo! As long as you put your heart in it the cards will be appreciated.
If you look back through some of our trades you will see that people who have joined as newbies to art improve with every trade they join. We all start somewhere and every single one of us felt intimidated when we first joined a trade. So just throw yourself in the deep end and you will find that you really can swim!

Well i'm at college for tourism and travel and I thought about an idea of travel. More like country and like each card would represent a country. Like say England you'd draw tourism things from England like the big ben and double decker bus like things that represent that country. And for France or something you can draw the eiffel tower, baguette, croissants, cafés. Things like that. I thought it was a good idea but I don't know if anyone would participate to it.

It will be very easy for me to participate. I would just send you plain white cards representing the most important touristic attraction in Quebec : snow!
Sorry, just joking. I couldn't avoid it. May be the winter is getting longer and I miss the sun .....
