In this project, you set up the facial proportions of a Jack Russell Terrier named Jumpin Jack, add blended shading to his eyes and nose, and add texture to his fuzzy face with hatching. Curriculum is designed to help improve your skills at drawing curved hatching lines.

That was an [u]awesome[u] guide! I like to call myself "drawing impared", but after this dog drawing, I'm starting to rethink that phrase.

I'm also quite happy with jumpin jack. Even though one eye is bigger, and that his fur resembles loft-installation foam.

This lesson is fantastic! I had trouble with the proportion a bit and especially the fur! But it looks so real

My Jack Russell is a bit fuller in the face. Next time I'll use a ruler, most definitely.

I like my Jack, but it could have been better if I'd had more patience with the fur-- and sharper pencils.

[Not only did I love this project...my 6th grade class fell in love with Jack. It is always a delight to watch them work and to see the drawing come to life...especially for them. They are always amazed when they are finished.
I have used this site for years and will continue to do so. I give this a 5
