Are there any copyright issues with downloading these books?

Not according to the website concerned. They state that the books are out of print and are now public domain
I wouldn't have posted the link if I thought there was copyright infringement

Copyright protects a book for 50 years after its author's death. William Andrew Loomis was born in 1892 and passed away in 1959 - 50 years ago. So his books just became part of the public domain. No infringement here.
