Is that really a problem? Cats and dogs can be the best of friends despite what people might think.
You just have not seen my cat...

He even can not live with other cats, but with a dog even more.

Besides, I want a big dog. And this dog needs lots of space, which in our flat is small...

A very sad week for me. I had to put my beloved dog to sleep as he was getting aggressive and wednesday he attacked my daughter. Now I'm dealing with the grief and the guilt at taking his life which I am not doing well...but I had no other choice. Living with the pain if he actually bit and harmed someone ..and with a 3 year old here most days..would be so much worse. Hug your animals for me please..

Aw Kat I am so sorry to hear that.

It is never good to lose an animal, no matter the reason.
You did what you had to do, give your daughter a hug and know that you are doing what is best for her.

Been out today visiting the local animal rescue centers. Looks like we're in the market for another dog! Just need to find one that gets along with our dog, and our two rescued battery hens! Should be fun!

thank you ..it was hard to talk about..and deal about..but it is getting a little easier. Everyone keeps asking when I will get another. I'm not sure I will. I still have the queen of the house to hug and hold( cat) when she allows it

Hi! I have a calico cat named Boo. She would run and hide everytime she heard a noise when she was a kitten.
My teenage daughter has a cat named Baby. He has to follow you every where even the bathroom! If you use a napkin
and crumple it up and lay in down, Baby will be entertained for hours!

This is Fluffy.

Her name is Millie, but we call her Fluffy. Not because she's fluffy, but because that is what she has for a brain.

But we love her!
Click to view attachmentThis is our newcomer to the fold. Casey came over from Ireland and spent 18 months in a rescue center. It must have driven him up the wall! He is extremely active, and I can't even imagine him being cooped up in kennels all day!. He's got lots of rough edges that need smoothing out! But we are getting there slowly! He's bitten me three times, and I've had him by the throat up against the wall 4 times. I'm winning.

It's true!

Not sure he's gonna work out here. Even Penny is having doubts about him. He is so vicious at times. It scares the kids and I'm worried that he might turn on them one day. He is ok with me now, he knows he can't get the better of me. But he went for Penny this morning. He jumped up on the bed and woke us up, and when she tried to get him off, he snapped at her. That's the second time. She didn't tell me about the first! She is considering what we should do. He keeps going for people on our walks. Just came back now and I had to restrain him a couple times! He's a powerfull dog and I have to be there at all times to walk him. He can pull Penny over without too much trouble, and the kids wouldn't stand a chance! But I can't awlays be there. That's what worries me!

Do you use a collar or a check chain Steve?? I really don't think you should keep a dog that could endanger kids, and if they squeal it will just egg him on. He probably needs obedience training, and if he is as bad as you say, he probably needs a single bloke to own..........as sad as it is, being confined as he was would have exacerbated his problems. You could always try and get that woman from "Its me or the dog" to come and do a programme on him!
In the meantime tell Penny to get a growl on her - and chastise him with a short loud command. She's a nurse didn't you say??? Tell her to put on her best Matron act with him and see if he improves with her while you are deciding what you need to do.
Good Luck!!

Just a suggestion, but why not turn this into a 'draw your pet' thread? Or let people choose one of the posted images of pets and draw them? While its great to see everyone's pride and joy, I always have drawing in the back of my mind!

He's still here. He's settled down a lot since my last post. I couldn't bring myself to send him away! Poor guy has had a pretty raw deal and deserved a fair shot! So we sorted out who was top dog and he seems to be a lot happier. I still wouldn't trust him with the kids, but we are getting there. He's quite an affectionate character. I fell asleep on the settee earlier, when I woke up, He was lying there alongside me!

Sneeky little devil!

Glad he is settling Steve. Sounds like my two lounge lizards! Sounds like he has finally landed with a patient, gentle, loving family............just what is needed if he is ever going to become the dog he was meant to be before his ill-treatment.

Everyones pets are so cute.
Here's my three "babies". Holly is 6 years old. She's the white patchy one, lol, She adopted us when she was a kitten. She's gorgeous, but can be viscious, too. Dobby is two and is the most sleek and elegant cat I've ever seen. Binx is the baby at ten months old. He's a fluffball, always covered in sticky buds from outside.....and he talks, none stop!! He's the most affectionate cat I've ever been owned by.

(Oops, I uploaded them back to front. First is Binx, Dobby, then Holly
