That is gorgeous! Bravo!

I agree How exciting to get up and see all the latest drawings.. !!

Raidor.. How beautiful ..One hour is very impressive..Hands have always been my downfall..I should take some lessons from you !!

Garyfallia..So glad to see the lantern done.. It has been through a lot of use over the years .. I keep it around on stormy days like this.. Electricity easily goes out.. Thanks for sharing your draw.

Stationary cloud ... How fun .. I am thinking that the Lantern is a birdhouse ? I am a bit confused as to what the other drawing on the page is .. Please, please, tell us.. Maybe I am just missing it all together ? Imagination is wonderful !!

Elena.. I see you finally got that Vooddoo Hat done.. That's it!! you did it !! I think your Challenge went over and above the Call of Duty .. If you are like me ..I hate letting something try and push me down.. I haven't looked at your First Challenge Host yet .. I bet from a while back it was hard to get this off the ground .. I think the Challenges are all exceptional and great learning tools.. !
Thanks Elena for all you do for us..

Kay ... My goodness you are one dedicated soul !! I just want to hug you.. but I'll wait til the fever is gone ..
The lantern can wait on the shading .. You are exceptional even when you are burning up with fever..should have put a bottle of Tylenol in the mix for you to draw..
You need to get some rest and all the TLC from Hubby he has to give..after all didn't you say he was the culprit ,,right ?
When your eyes get uncrossed and you are feeling better you can come back and toss in that hat..
Meantime take advantage of the pampering !!
Take Care my Friend..

Finally, the bad sketch, bad picture taken in bad light is here.
Texan lady you should admit some witchcraft from Witchita falls fell on me from that hat and some Texan spirits messed up my drawing and PC laugh.gif
Yes, my challenge was a hit, but if you want to see my first challenge look at this.

Elena I was thinking that you were sending me a bomb for your first Challenge .. OMG.. That was just as amazing .. Great subject matter makes all the difference or you are just one Sweet Gal and we all love your Talent and never ending Ideas !!!
You are Amazing !!

stationary... o sorry about that, my name's Ed. and yes, that oil lantern is a birdhouse, though only roast chicken live there, anyway let me tell you about the drawing, you know i was really drunk so that's probably why it's hard to tell what's there, also my hands were kind of wobbly, so the picture didn't came out that fine. Anyway...

"I was feeling really depressed
'cause a cloud kept following
me everywhere I went, day & night,
so i started drinking 'till my body
was filled to the brim with whiskey,
and my head was as light as hay,
and i felt like smoking but
couldn't reach for the lighter,
cause my hands weren't responding
wasn't even sure if i had hands,
and for some reason a raven
kept calling me stupid!"

... and everything was dark except for the space illuminated by the oil lantern, and um... well that's all i can remember.

Hi Raidor,
Great job on the stirrup. Would you consider giving us some step by step instructions on a pen and Ink project? That is a technique I am trying to learn. Please give it some thought and let us know.
Thanks,

Thanks for the compliment Trish
a step by step instructions I can try , the main problem is the language (my English is very bad, so I use the GoogleTranslator)
I have many pictures of "Simplicissimus" viewed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simplicissimus and http://erbe.fluchttraum.de/galleries/pendrawings/ ) and copied - I have "draw in pen and ink" not really learned, I initially tried to the essentials to express and be seen, the little nuances that only unimportant appear necessarily to include the entire = this is the main
Of course one needs a steady hand and lots of patience = draw with ink is a lengthy procedure

Another good morning to see all the new drawings..
Raidor and Garyfallia.. Ol Duke is looking Good !!
Raidor and Elena.. Great hats .. Garyfallia .. perhaps if you gave it a try you would see that the holes are nothing more than holes filled with graphite on the light part of the hat.. look at maybe Elena's closer and you will see how she filled the space with the pattern on the hat with dark.. agree.. the placements would be time consuming but the effects are perfect..
Now whenever I wear that hat I will be thinking of my Drawspace Artists..
Raidor ..I love that you are trying different mediums with your renditions.. The wheel and the background .. yet another way to make it your own.
Hope I didn't leave anyone out !!

I'll try and gather them all up like Elena does with hers in a group when the Week is over..

I Wonder now too Trish .. why did you say that Kay ? I just sort of thought you were giving some Humor to an inside joke or something .. You know we all love you !! as for the Drink I'll buy you one too.. Hope you are feeling tons better with the Hubby 's TLC..

but I love drawing dogs....

I must also say, your work is very nice, that lamp is spot on!

I knew I'd mess up and leave someone out ..some Host I am huh ...
Warped is not what I'd say .. you captured my friends personality perfectly .. He's such a Happy dog and here you see he is smiling .. Big dogs like Duke always get the reputation for being a bit aggressive.. Ol Duke is a mixed breed and the Lab part of him is what comes out the most.. Now don't get me wrong he does have a protective side and wouldn't hesitate to protect what he feels is in danger..
Great draw Hunter Green..

Raidor, here are the links to Colored pencils class and Animals in colored pencils workshop both with our DS teacher Jeanette(IslanderNL)

Colored pencils is considered to be a difficult medium, but reading the information in these two threads you find esier to deal with CP.I myself participated in the animal workshop and found it very useful.

I sent this info by PM to Sarah, as i didn't want to bug Carol's challenge but it is better to be seen by many who may come to this page and are new to the site and to Colored pencils.

Carol, this is a follow up of the gallery dialogue on the lamp in Cp by Raidor;
I reccomended more layers of Cp as to add depth and volume. And he was interested in more learning tips with this medium.

Her's my version of your hat and your lovely Duke. I really love him - he's a real dog - I know lots of folk go for little toy dogs, but I don't feel I'm a small toy dog kind of person. Sometimes I've to take out one of my neighbour's Bichon and I feel daft with this small fur ball on the end of a lead.
I used coloured pencils on a Sennelier pad.
oliverandjazz

Norma ,, thanks so much for your drawings.. Duke was a stray dog that showed up in my yard one Very Hot August day .. He had ticks all over him and was in such poor health .. I was even scared of him and shooed him away ,, he kept coming back to me .. finally I threw my hands up and said to that sweet face .. You're Mine.. Got him cleaned up de-ticked and to a vet .. He was given a clean bill of health and has been my constant companion ever since .. Now Norma I do have a small dog living in my home as well ....another rescue dog....he was abused and so skinny, My Taco Bell /Boston terrier.. Smart as a whip and the boss of Duke .. Duke loves that little rug rat and I am fortunate they both get along so well. I'll take a rescue dog over any Froo froo high dollar dog any day.. not to say they are any less loved or loyal..
Thanks for participating Norma.. I'm so thrilled I had some activity on my first rattle out of the box..
Hugs ..

I gave myself a challenge with this lamp as I usually draw with a pencil in one hand and an eraser in the other. This was done in INK and took me about an hour, but, as you'll see, I ran out of paper!
