DS101 Shading with Squirkling and Hatching

6 weeks   Shading 1

Shading is the process of adding values to a drawing to create the illusion of texture, form, and/or three-dimensional space. A light source creates the light and shadow areas on a drawing subject so you know where to add light and dark shading. When you know where to draw light and shadow, you can turn shapes into forms. In this classroom, you learn how to add shading to drawings with two popular shading techniques known as squirkling and hatching.
